Dr. Harald Büchel retires
Swabian remains with Duisburg
From the Swabian Alb to Duisburg: „ This was the decision of my life” said Dr. Büchel. But none he regret. For 13 years he was the General Manager of the Brabender® Group, now he retired.
After his studies for mechanical engineering in Stuttgart Büchel initially became General Manager in his father’s company. Already at that time he had close contact to the manufacturer of measuring instruments, Brabender®. When Martha Brabender called him in May 1997 things went rapidly. “I signed the contract five days after our phone conversation”, said Büchel.
The contact to his employees was always important for him. For the General Manager each working day began with a round through the company.
Büchel would like to be available for his former employees, even during his retirement. “Whenever I can give anything to the company; I will do so. I won’t bill anything for that.” joked the 64 year-old pensioner. Now the double grandfather looks forward to the time with his family. He remains with Duisburg. “My homeland is no longer the South, but here.” said Büchel.
